Enterprises representatives and local government officials from the city of Hengshui, located in the southeast of Hebei province, attended a project enterprise-establishing, signing and promotion conference in Beijing on December 21.

So far 192 contracts have been signed, with a total investment of 81.2 billion yuan ($11.89 billion).

According to the publicity department of Hengshui municipal party committee, 275 projects have been promoted and the investment involved has totaled 118 billion yuan. The conference plans to introduce capital of 78.7 billion yuan.

The local government has made great efforts in key construction projects and strengthened trade and investment promotion. In recent years, the city stepped up the innovation and upgrading of the traditional industries such as silk screen, green chemistry and fur clothing, all Hengshui's pillar industries with local characteristics. The production, sales and exports of the city's silk screen account for 80 percent of the country's total.
