Charming Hebei has fantasy pavilion plan
2010-01-19

The second exhibition will show the development of solar energy, low-carbon technology and other new innovations in the northern China's province.

In the third theme exhibition, visitors will see a "dialogue" between heroes in the 1976 Tangshan earthquake and Haibao, the Expo mascot. More than 240,000 people were killed in the 7.8-magnitude Tangshan earthquake, but persistent Tangshan people rebuilt a whole new city on its debris with help pouring in from around China, including Shanghai. Hebei exhibition organizers want to show the great economic achievements as well as their people's strong will through this part of pavilion.

Chen Xianjin, deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, Xiong Xunlin, deputy director of the office heading preparations for the China Pavilion and Zhao Fenglou, director of the World Expo Office of Hebei province attended the launching ceremony.

"Hebei had undergone a lots of exploration and innovations in history. The pavilion would share these valuable changes with the visitors," Chen said. "I hope we would see a perfectly built pavilion to successfully reflect Hebei people's wonderful ideas."
