Hebei Agricultural University’s Agricultural and Business Logistics Park

Builders have broken ground on a park Hebei government officials consider one of their most important projects of 2010.

Construction of Hebei Agricultural University’s Agricultural and Business Logistics Park was underway August 26 in Hebei’s Baoding city. Once completed, officials expect the park to bring in 10 billion yuan annually.

The park is intended to provide agricultural services for Hebei residents, such as product transaction, logistics distribution, talent training and information consultation. It will also serve as a training ground for college students.

Hebei Agricultural University and Baoding government officials developed the 400-hectare park, which will be divided into three areas: an aquatic product transaction area, a fruit transaction area and a grain and oil transaction area.

Officials familiar with the project expect in the park to be complete by 2012. They said the park will create 300 jobs and 200 entrepreneurial opportunities, with its 1.5-million-ton inventory capacity.
