Hebei's Chicheng extends tourism ties with Beijing
2010-09-08

The municipal government of Chicheng in Hebei province has signed a memorandum of understanding with six districts in Beijing to jointly develop the tourism sector.

Chicheng and the six districts in Beijing, including Miyun, Changping, and Yanqing, will jointly integrate tourism resources, remove area barriers and share resources and market information. In the meantime, the two sides will promote cooperation between each other's travel agencies and will create boutique travel programs.

The latest move is in line with Chicheng's plan to expand its tourism market through cooperation with the Beijing municipal government.

At the signing ceremony, Chicheng promoted 10 tourism programs, and it secured 11 contracts valued at hundreds of millions of yuan.

Chicheng is an important source of drinking water for Beijing. In the first half of this year, the local government introduced 19 Beijing-related tourism programs, with a total investment of CNY3.15 billion.
