The first Shijiazhuang Asian Ballroom Dance Open Tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday at Zhongshan Stadium in Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei province.

The contest has attracted more than 3000 contestants from dozens of countries and regions in Asia, including Russia, Australia and Malaysia. It also featured more 70 delegations from across China.

The contest invited 29 foreign judges and 13 domestic experts to serve on the jury panel.

The contest is sponsored by the Shijiazhuang Publication Bureau, World Dance Council (WDC) Amateur League, Asia Dance Council (ADC) Amateur League and Far East International Ballroom Vocational Teachers Association(YDDTA). Shijiazhuang authorities said they plan to hold the contest every two years.
