The 12 hardest tunnels of Chengde-Qinghuangdao freeway have been built, 90 per cent of the roadbed of the 70-kilometer-long freeway in Qinglong Manchu Autonomous County has been finished and the highway will be open by October. As the first line of the Hubei highway system plan, the 191 kilometer freeway is a fast passage connecting Chengde and Qinghuangdao north in Hubei. The freeway will promote economic cooperation and development in the northern Hubei districts.
