According to the Hebei Provincial Bureau of Statistics, in the first seven months of 2012, Hebei’s utilized foreign capital has reached $3.81 billion with a year-on-year growth rate of 37.6 percent. Foreign direct investment has increased by 50.4 percent to $3.69 billion.

The driving force of FDI growth comes from major programs with contracted foreign investments of over 10 million dollars. The total amount of the major programs’ FDI has increased 55.1 percent to $3.20 billion, accounting for 86.7 percent of Hebei’s total FDI.

FDI from Hong Kong and FDI to the primary and secondary industries are also important factors in Hebei’s FDI growth.
