The handling capacity of the ports, owned by Hebei Port Group Co Ltd in 2012 went over the 300-million-ton mark by Nov 14, when it hit 300.21 million. Members of the group say they are trying hard to reach their goal of 350 million tons by year’s end.

The group was still able to see some progress this year, in spite of weak demand in the coal and mineral secotrs in the first half, by doing a careful analysis of the economic situation and coming up with some winning cooperative agreements with end users. The group has also paid attention to port logistic activities to promote their advantages.
