Hebei province plans to put 1.6 billion yuan ($250million) into informatizationizing its manufacturers, according to a Dec 12 Hebei Economic Daily report on a recent Provincial Science and Technology Agency conference. The conference centered on a “12th Five-year" informationization project.

One of the pieces of information announced at the conference was the “Plan for the Informationization of Hebei Manufacturing Industries”, which calls for the province to pick eight-to-twelve key technologies for the coordination of management, digital services, and production controls, and the integration of product design and manufacturing for developing IPR products.

It will also choose three-to-five large enterprises in the iron and steel, equipment, and pharmaceutical industries to demonstrate digitally integrated applications, and three-to-five small to mid-sized enterprises to demonstrate digital design and manufacturing and information management。

There were nine enterprises in the first group chosen for the “12th Five-Year" manufacturing industry informationization project, which include the Tangshan Railway Vehicle Co and North China Pharmaceutical (Group) Corp.
