Work begins on 200,000-ton shipping channel at the Huanghua port
2013-01-11

There was a press conference in Cangzhou, Hebei province, on Jan 8, to announce that the preparation work on a 200,000-ton shipping channel at Huanghua’s comprehensive port has been finished and that construction work was officially beginning.

Cangzhou’s Party secretary, Hui Xueyong, said that the total investment amounts to more than $60 million. The 58.8-km, 250,000-ton shipping channel will be built on the current 100,000-ton shipping channel. By the end of this year, the new channel will be used for the 200,000-ton terminal and the Handan-Huanghua railway. This new shipping channel will help turn Huanghua into a modern, multi-purpose port.
