The foundation was recently laid for the Xiangyang Aviation Technology and Equipment Industrial Park in the Xinshiqu district of Baoding, Hebei province.

The industrial park grew out of a strategic cooperation agreement between the Aviation Industry Corp of China and the Hebei provincial government.

It is expected to cost 3.3 billion yuan and will become an R&D center for AVIC’s soft intelligent and technological equipment, manufacturing, and spare parts for its numerically-controlled machines and an aviation equipment and manufacturing base.

AVIC representatives said the park will provide an opportunity to develop an industrial pattern where the R&D center is in Beijing and production base in Baoding. It is expected to be a high-level equipmental industrial base.
