More Shijiazhuang companies investing overseas

Companies in the city of Shijiazhuang have been looking into international markets this year, with statistics showing 118 in Shijiazhuang putting as much as $430 million in countries around the world by the end of June.

Shijiazhuang has had a going-out strategy, with the government supporting companies in various fields in opening up new markets and encouraging enterprises to make better use of international market as well as domestic ones.

It has 13 companies mainly in energy and technology R&D, with five projects in mineral exploitation, machine manufacturing, and biomedical R&D, and overall investment equal to $95.8 million.

Shijiazhuang will continue with its going-out policy and supporting local enterprises and promoting investment in foreign countries Competitive industries are being encouraged in this and industries with excess production capacity. The city is organizing companies to go abroad to investigate the markets, and the government will send a group to Belgium and Italy in September to help them invest in Europe.

This visit is intended to bring them greater understanding of the European market through communication and discussions to promote cooperation agreements. It is also a good chance for Shijiazhuang enterprises to spread a good image.

Hebei province has been invited to attend an expo in Belgium in September so, to encourage its companies, those that take part in this expo will be able to go for free. At the expo, Hebei and Belgium will hold meetings on cooperation and investment and Shijiazhuang will promote its tourism in the two countries, and hold meetings with European travel agencies to promote cooperation.
