Hebei attracts 5.88 billion yuan tourism revenues in “Golden Week”

During the seven-day National Day holiday, Hebei province received a total of 11,723,000 tourists, generating tourism revenue worth 5.88 billion yuan, an increase of 27.2 percent and 30.6 percent over the same period of last year.

Major tourist cities in the province witnessed robust economic growth during the break. Among them, Shijiazhuang city hosted the largest number of tourists with 1.698 million people visiting in seven days. Tangshan city attracted the largest sum of tourism revenue by bringing in 850 million yuan

Performances such as Guancheng Martial Arts and Military City-patrolling at Shanhaiguan Scenic Spot, Emperor City Wall Ascending and Commander Qi Solider Review at Laolongtou Scenic Spot as well as other activities in Qinhuangdao city attracted many visitors. With 756,000 tourists, Qinhuangdao city generated 690 million yuan in tourism revenue, a year-on-year increase of 13.6 percent and 26.8 percent respectively. Chengde city received 1.4 million visitors in seven days, securing a comprehensive boost of 710 million yuan. The number of tickets sold at the Imperial Mountain Summer Resort was up 56.2 percent. Baoding city hosted 2.862 million tourists and generated a total of 1.517 billion yuan, up 19.5 percent and 27 percent respectively. Zhangjiakou city welcomed 755,000 tourists who brought in 430 million yuan, an increase of 50.7 percent and 53.6 percent respectively. Tangshan city housed 1.4 million visitors worth 850 million yuan, up 13.7 percent and 38.4 percent respectively.
